Missions is the spread of the Gospel to all nations, as instructed by Jesus in Matthew 28:19. Since it is important for Christians to not only know about missions but also be doing missions, Mission Wednesdays give our Mission Friends, RA’s, and GA’s the opportunity to participate in hands-on missions activities throughout the year. We try to have one Mission Wednesday per month which typically takes place within the Mission Friends, RA’s, and GA’s classes. These projects vary from month to month, but some examples of Mission Wednesdays include:
- Assembling food bags for needy families
- Collecting items and assembling shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child
- Christmas caroling to church members needing encouragement
- Hearing testimonies from missionary speakers
- Hosting a bake sale to raise money for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering
- Evangelism training to help the children know how to share the Gospel
